Why Sentosa

What you get when care is the starting point

The way we design our services is shaped by what we believe HR professionals actually need: time back, clearer documentation, and confidence that no one is making consequential decisions on your behalf without your knowledge.

Six things that shape every engagement

Specialist HR sector knowledge

Our team has worked inside HR functions in Malaysia for over a decade. We understand the pressures of recruitment cycles, the sensitivity of performance reviews, and the compliance requirements your team faces daily.

Written outputs at every stage

Nothing we recommend is verbal-only. You receive a written brief, a data flow note, a usage policy template, and a quarterly report. Every document is yours to keep and share with your legal and governance teams.

Bilingual capability built in

All drafting outputs are available in English and Bahasa Melayu. We tune the assistant on your organisation's tone in both languages, so documents feel consistent across your entire workforce.

Employment law integrated throughout

Our employment law advisor reviews the implications of each engagement against Malaysian legislation — including the Employment Act 1955, the Industrial Relations Act 1967, and PDPA 2010 — before any configuration begins.

Staged approach with full visibility

No tools are deployed without a prior policy review. No data is processed without a signed data flow agreement. Each stage is a deliberate decision by your team, not a default next step we move you through.

ESG and audit trail support

Our stewardship reports are structured for ESG disclosure. The documentation we produce provides a clear and auditable record of AI governance decisions, suitable for board review and external reporting frameworks.

In More Detail

What each benefit means in practice

Professional expertise that comes from the HR side, not the tech side

Many AI consultancies approach HR as a vertical to be addressed with general-purpose tools. Our team began in HR, not in technology. Zulaikha Ibrahim spent fourteen years as an HR manager before co-founding Sentosa. That background shapes the questions we ask and the risks we notice.

  • MIHRM-credentialed HR advisory lead
  • Employment law specialist on every engagement
  • Experience across manufacturing, financial services, and professional services

Technology configured for your context, not installed off the shelf

The drafting assistant we set up is tuned on your organisation's tone-of-voice samples, configured with guardrails for sensitive topics specific to your sector, and tested over a four-week supervised period before anyone outside HR sees an output. We select tools based on data residency options compatible with PDPA requirements.

  • Tone tuned on your own documents
  • Guardrails set before supervised rollout
  • Data residency aligned with PDPA

A relationship, not a transaction

Under the stewardship programme, you have a named contact at Sentosa who knows your organisation, your people committee, and the decisions you have made about AI use. Between quarterly sessions, you have access to a confidential question line for issues that cannot wait. We are not a helpdesk — we are an ongoing advisory relationship.

  • Named advisor who knows your context
  • Confidential question line between sessions
  • Private review sessions each quarter

Clear, fixed pricing with no hidden extras

Each service is priced at a fixed rate stated upfront. The policy review is RM 1,240 for four weeks of work. The drafting assistant setup is RM 990. Quarterly stewardship is RM 4,720 per year. There are no hourly overruns, no licence fees added later, and no upselling during an engagement.

  • Fixed rates stated before any work begins
  • No ongoing software licence fees from Sentosa
  • Each service can stand alone — no bundled obligation

Outcomes measured in hours saved and risks documented

The policy review brief identifies specific areas where AI support could reduce paperwork — and estimates the time involved in each. After the drafting assistant setup, the closing reflection session measures whether the four-week supervised period delivered the expected reduction in drafting time. We put numbers on outcomes where we can.

  • Time-saving estimates named in the brief
  • Closing reflection session measures actual outcomes
  • Quarterly report tracks fairness signals over time

PDPA-specific data flow notes No Generic GDPR framing Yes Malaysian law applied

What Sets Us Apart

Three things no other provider offers in quite this way

The policy brief before the tools

We insist on the written brief stage before any technology is configured. This is not standard practice in AI consultancy. It means that when tools are set up, the boundaries are already documented and agreed — not retrofitted after something goes wrong.

Quarterly fairness signal review

No other advisory firm in Malaysia offers a structured quarterly review of AI-influenced hiring and promotion data for patterns indicating bias. We do this with explicit consent, in writing, and with a report that names what we found and what we recommend.

Board-ready annual ESG summary

The annual summary from our stewardship programme is written specifically for boards and audit committees, not for HR teams. It covers AI governance decisions, data handling, fairness review outcomes, and policy updates — in the language your governance colleagues expect.
